Anjali Lathi

Anjali Lathi was appointed to the Board in 2002, elected in 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 to represent the City of Fremont. She served as President of the Board in 2006, 2010, 2013, and 2018. Her term expires in 2022. She is a member of the Legal/Community Affairs and Engineering and Information Technology Committees, and the District representative to the East Bay Dischargers Authority Commission.
During her many years of residence in Fremont, Ms. Lathi's public service and leadership has included volunteering for the SYDA Fremont Center, LIFE Elder Care Meals on Wheels, Fremont Cultural Arts Council, Mission Peak Universalist Congregation, and the Hindu American Foundation.
At Union Sanitary District, the Tri-Cities' award winning wastewater agency, Ms. Lathi has served on all Board Committees. She has also served for several years as the Board's representative to the East Bay Dischargers Authority. Ms. Lathi was one of the first to receive recognition in Special District Governance, awarded by the Special District Leadership Foundation for dedication to providing the best services to a local community.
Ms. Lathi earned both her Bachelor's degree in Economics and her law degree from the University of California at Davis. She is a member of the California State Bar, having worked in the public sector as a deputy district attorney, and in the private sector as defense counsel for school/community college districts, and as a project manager at a community bank.
Her priorities are to ensure that USD's rates remain among the lowest of surveyed agencies, and support staff so they can continue their tradition of excellence in serving USD's constituents.
